CORE is a team of licensed mental health specialists who provide compassionate interventions, support, and resources to UCLA students experiencing a behavioral health crisis.

CORE delivers crisis resolution and mental health relief to students on campus. Services include telehealth and on-site evaluation, stabilization, de-escalation, follow-up, and coordination of other health care supports.

CORE will respond to:

Non-violent calls for individuals experiencing behavioral health crises such as:

  • Thoughts of suicide
  • Wishing to go to sleep and not wake up
  • Thoughts of wanting to harm self 
  • Thoughts of wanting to harm others
  • Seeing or hearing things that other people may not be able to see or hear
  • Difficulty accessing food, clothing, or shelter due to an increase in your mental health symptoms
  • Alcohol or Substance use due to a mental health condition
  • Any other symptoms requiring a behavioral health response
  • In-person wellness check-ins

CORE cannot respond to:

Calls where imminent safety concerns exist such as:

  • Active shooter/violence
  • Actively using a lethal weapon
  • Active self-injury with a weapon
  • Active fire/ hazardous material
  • Alcohol or drug emergencies 
  • Any other medical emergencies
