Clinical Experiences/Interests: I have worked in community mental health, university counselling and outpatient hospital settings internationally and in the USA. My area of interest includes supporting international students, Muslim students, graduate students, students of color and individuals with other marginalized identities. I have a particular interest in issues related to identity development, acculturation, spirituality/religion, body image concerns, disordered eating, relationship dynamics and intergenerational trauma.
Approach to Treatment: My approach to therapy begins with establishing a safe and collaborative space to better understand your concerns. I believe in tailoring therapy according to your needs while drawing techniques from psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioral and relational perspectives. Cultural humility, respect for intersectionality and diversity is central to my approach. My aim is to create a space where students can feel authentically heard, seen and supported!
