Treatment Approach: "I try to build a collaborative and nonjudgmental working relationship to better understand what is contributing to distress. I believe most emotional pain can start from the experience of being misunderstood, judged, and invalidated, and suffering is when we internalize these beliefs and try to be someone we are not. I approach therapy through the balance of validation and encouragement to change; first understanding our experience within the larger systemic problem and then identifying the values that motivate us to change our own actions and negative self-talk."
